The Lenovo X201 came in with a “Fan Error” message on boot up, then shut down.
Fan repairs on laptops can be urgent, as overheating can cause damage to the processor and the hard drive. If you feel like your fan it clogged or overheating, you should get in touch with us as soon as possible.
After dismantling the unit and cleaning the lint from the fan we started it again, although the fan to start up.
We dismantled the laptop and found that it was faulty and there were clear signs of overheating.
The “Error” message came on!
A new fan was ordered and fitted and the unit reassembled.
